The PC-3000 Portable III has become an even more universal data recovery tool!
Now, with the new SAS adapter for PC-3000 Portable III, you can conduct advanced diagnostics, repair and data recovery from HDD and SSD with the SAS interface (Serial Attached SCSI).

Connecting the SAS adapter to the PC-3000 Portable III
The SAS adapter is connected to Port 0. When choosing this port, the adapter is detected in the system automatically:

The SAS adapter is an external device which is connected to Port0 of the PC-3000 Portable III.
The adapter includes a highly productive Marvell controller, effective low-noise voltage stabilizers as well as other electronic components such as the Power and Data ports for SAS drive connection, and three LED indicators: of the provided power supply - PWR, of the drive activity - SEL, and of the error - FLT.
For temperature control, there is a fan inside the case of the adapter and a radiator on the microchip of the bridge. The fan is monitored by the PWM controller which gets the data from the temperature sensor.
The SAS adapter construction
The new SAS adapter сharacteristics:
- Is built on the high-end SAS 2.0 Marvell controller
- Has the SAS 2.0 port providing 6 Gbit/s, 3 Gbit/s, 1.5 Gbit/s data transferring modes
- Lets you connect HDDs and SSDs with SAS and SATA interfaces as well
- Is provided together with the software for SAS drive repair and data recovery
- Has an active temperature control system. The operational temperatures are between 0 and +40°C

1. SAS adapter
The SAS adapter is intended for SAS HDD and SAS SSD connection for general checking of device operation capability, surface testing for reading, writing, verification, viewing SMART parameters (Log Sense). It is also possible to view and change some device configuration parameters here.
The copying function lets you create the device image (full sector-by-sector copy) and save any area of the logical space. The sector editor lets view and edit the chosen surface areas.
The adapter lets you work with SAS HDD and SSD in the Data Extractor software.

2. SAS Adapter with Special Software Utilities
The SAS Adapter with Special Software Utilities (for PC-3000 Portable III) provides the same functions as the SAS adapter (see option 1) plus Special Software Utilities.
The Special Fujitsu, HGST, and Seagate Utilities let you test SAS HDD in the technological mode, check and recover the service information.
In the special utilities, testing and restoring HDD service information, modules, configuration pages has been implemented. Translator recalculation (restoring) is supported as well as testing magnetic heads and disk surfaces according to physical parameters, clearing SMART, resetting the counters of on/off switching and work hours, loading the HDD microprogram.
The SAS Adapter with Special Software Utilities will also allow you viewing the hidden defects table of the P- and G-lists when dealing with SAS HDD.
